What We Do Under the name of UCFA, we are cooperating with many cultural and social organizations to develop our cultural events, ideas and productions. UCFA works on Chinese Independent film culture and organizes events; also we aim to help all the Chinese-speaking filmmakers and event organizers in the UK to make their own productions including films, shows, events and conference parties. In 2010, UCFA cooperates with Edinburgh International Film Festival 2010. We are getting 14 wonderful independent Chinese films for submission for far. Good News coming from Italy as: UCFA has been invited to 25th Torino GLBT Film Festival (Italy) with film Panda Candy for their 25th anniversary Selection Festival Screening. 2009 10 December 2009, UCFA organized a special screening “SPECIAL THANX MINI SCREENING” for thanks our dear volunteers in Soho, London.
30 September – 11 October 2009, UCFA exclusively presents 17th Raindance Film Festival for Chinese language market, also become culture partner with Raindance. 8 films from UCFA have been submitted, 2 best one got into final selection screening for UK Premiere. PANDA CANDY¡¶ÐÜèÄÌÌÇ¡·: Dir. Lei Peng and TWILIGHT DANCING ¡¶³µÊÅ¡·: Dir. Shu Ya, won the cheering form UK local audience. UCFA also successfully hold a special Chinese live house night for Chinese new-wave band: New Pants (London Live) during the festival.
22 June 2009, UCFA has been invited to Shanghai International Film Festival 2009 for film business and feather films co-production. 5 March – May 2009, UCFA co-organized with Cage Consultant for organizing the UK Chinese Singing Competition “C-STAR 2009”. 18 January 2009, we cooperated with Chinese Student and Scholar Association (CSSA-UK) again, successfully organized and produced the annually UK Chinese New Year Gala 2009 for UK Chinese Embassy. Producer Wing Wang, Director Duanduan Dong and Tao Gu with other UCFA people had completed a wonderful event in Logan Hall, London with all the volunteers from CSSA-UK. 2008 1 – 12 October 2008, UCFA cooperated with 16th Raindance Film Festival and assistance for festival sponsorship and screening management in cinema.
25 August 2008, UCFA co-organized with China Arts, running the Team China for first performance of Notting Hill Carnival 2008. 2 May 2008, Zhiyi Yong and Wing Wang (UCFA) organized and produced UK Chinese Beijing Olympic Touch Relay Photography Competition and Exhibition for CSSA-UK and UK Chinese Embassy. 15 February 2008, UCFA took the duty with CSSA-UK and cooperated with CCTV 3 (Mainland China) to help to produce the famous show The Same Song – Going into London; cooperated with CSSA-UK in Central Hall Westminster.
5 February 2008, we cooperated with Chinese Student and Scholar Association (CSSA-UK), successfully organized and produced the annually UK Chinese New Year (Spring Festival) Gala 2008 for UK Chinese Embassy (Director Duanduan Dong, Film production director Wing Wang & Tao Gu). Film London, British Film Institute (BFI), British Board of Film Classification (BBFC), London Chinatown Chinese Association and CSSA-UK are supporting us all the way. As UCFA presents Raindance Film Festival, we also cooperate with Edinburgh International Film Association, BFI festivals and other UK film festivals.
